Part 6 – Making A Fur Ruff – Measuring And Cutting the Material Interfacings

Measure the BIAS Width of the fur ruff plus two inches. (Pattern Pieces O). Measure the BIAS Length of the fur ruff plus two inches. (Pattern Piece N). Cut the interfacing on a bias (diagonal) for the ruff facing (Pattern Pieces O & N). Example: If the adult ruff measures 3 x 29, cut ruff facing pattern pieces 5 x 31 inches.

Then: Measure the width of the Ruff Front Facing at 2 inches. (Pattern Piece M). Measure the length of the Ruff Front Facing the length of the Ruff and 2 inches. (Pattern Piece L). Cut ruff facing on bias or diagonal. In pattern pieces, all ruff facings are for 3 inch wide ruffs; facings should equal the width of the ruff plus 2 inches. The length should equal the length of the fur ruff plus 2 inches.
