04.13.1974–This Day in Alaskan History
1974–The first annual shareholders meeting for Ahtna is held. Ahtna Incorporated is a native Regional Corporation formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. Headquartered in Glennallen, it has 1,200 shareholders, the majority of whom reside in the Copper River region. All the villages in the region merged into the regional corporation except Chitina.
